Urban Interaction Design

This project explored how small urban public spaces can be optimized through interactive interventions. It employed a data-driven design approach that combined 3D-printed street furniture, infrared people counters (PYRO Evo), and augmented reality (AR) interfaces. Human flow data was collected and analyzed using Eco-Link and Eco-Visio software to inform design decisions. Modular 3D-printed benches with embedded LED lights and motion sensors were deployed to encourage longer dwell times and test user attraction in both daytime and nighttime conditions. In parallel, an online AR game built with Unity/WebGL provided a platform for community input and simulated how people might interact with the redesigned space. The project aimed to strengthen community engagement and provide a replicable model for smart micro-renewal in urban areas.
